I just finished the book Reasons to be Happy by the talented Katrina Kittle.
(Buy it here)
Although juvenile fiction, I suggest anyone of any age to read it.
It is all about trying to find yourself, what truly makes you smile, and to be yourself.
I wish my 14-year-old self had read this book.
She would have learned much from it.
She would have started a list of what makes her happy.
So now, at 25, I’ll start that list.
You should start a list too.
Look at it often.
Remind yourself of all those small things that make you smile.
Reasons to be Happy (Thank you, K. Kittle!)
1. Homemade popcorn.
2. The feeling of summer grass between your bare toes.
3. Leopard print pillows.

4. Being naked.
5. Jumping in a puddle.
6. Finally being able to pull all your hair back into a ponytail.
7. Lemony scented things.
8. Boots that have fur-lining, no socks needed.
9. Seeing your family after a long, long time.
10. Finding something you thought you lost.
11. Sinking into a hot bath.
12. Lillies. They just make me smile all over.
13. Watching a favorite movie, and noticing something you didn’t notice before.
14. Gorgeous brick homes with bright blue doors.

15. New running shoes.
16. Unexpected, unique, homemade gifts.
17. Babies rolly-polly legs.
18. That first cold drink of water after a long run.
19. Laughing with the one you love.

20. Snatching a warm towel straight from the dryer.
21. Baking a delicious dessert… and then giving it to someone else.
22. Stamps.
23. Old-fashioned keys (skeletons are the best).
24. Saying the same exact thing at the same exact time as someone else.
25. Finding a missing sock.
26. Furry ears on cattle.

27. The way your lips feels after making out. Plump and full.
28. Princess-cut diamonds.
29. Reading late into the wee hours when you know you have to get up early.
30. Baby cucumbers.
31. Drinking champagne, out of ridiculously cheesy heart glasses from the dollar store, in a hotel room with your BFF.

32. Waiting for the sunrise.
33. Watching the sunrise.
34. That first sip of wine.
35. Looking outside on a rainy day and finding a feather stuck to the window.
The list goes on and on.
I love it.
Over and out.

You WOULD write that.. and that is a happy reason. Touche!
I love drinking wine out of lilies!
OH Fancy! THat combines 2 happy things into one!
I must find this book. It sounds like a spirit lifter. I nodded my head to over half of these and said, “YUppp” me too. I just have to add cats to my list..don’t hate me. Haha. That brick house with the blue door..I want that. In fact when we meet and become instant best friends we must eventually move into that house.
Yes, let’s please buy the house and live in it. You can keep kittens and cats, I’ll allow it. As long as I can keep meat in the fridge.
Oh I have too many to list…too, too many but I think I’m most happy for being a free ( as in not emotional bondage) woman..Yup, I’s free!!!
Yeahhhh that is an EXCELLENT reason to be happy!!!
This is a wonderful blog. Made me smile a lot.
Yayyy I”m happy
that is a reason to be happy: having others read my blog and smile!
